Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Mission Statement
The Youth Ministry of the Mar Yosip Parish (San Jose, CA) is an integral part of the Assyrian Church of the East, whose primatial see is Seleucia-Ctesiphon. This ministry is an extension of the ministry of the proclamation of the salvific Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ preached by the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.
The Mar Yosip Youth Ministry has as its mandate the spreading of our Lord’s Gospel among the Assyrian Youth of today, and to instill in them a passionate love for the Lord and has saving Word. It is further commissioned to introduce and capture our Assyrian Youth to the Holy Church of their forefathers, which bore the light of the Christian Gospel to all of Asia. It challenges them to live out the apostolic faith of their Church, and to be steeped in her apostolic and patristic teachings. The faith of the Assyrian Church of the East is that of the early Apostolic faith of the Assyrian Church of the East is that of the early Apostolic Church.
The greatest challenge of our Assyrian Youth is to be taught the orthodox and apostolic, and to pass on that holy faith to the future generations or Assyrians. The call of the Lord to the ‘children of Nineveh’ is to come to love and serve HIM, and to take their part in the holy and apostolic Church of their forefathers, which is the ark of salvation founded upon the unshakable rock who is our Lord Jesus Christ. The is the holy mission of the Mar Yosip Parish Youth Ministry.
